Location:  
The building of "Senmut" Bed & Breakfast with roof terrace and garden is located in Ramlah, a suburb along the western shore of the Nile and directly connected to the village El Gezira. From the ferry (coming from the East Bank) to the left, follow the road along the Nile, just before the new mosque on your right hand turn right. Distance to the Nile is about 35 metres, the centre of the village can be reached in a few minutes walk. There you find shops, restaurants, riding stables, internet cafes, taxis, and bicycles for rent. The next hotel/restaurant with swimming pool you find in a 50 metres distance.

The concept :
"Senmut" is the home of a Dutch/Egyptian couple, which is partially made available for guests. A Bed & Breakfast (also called guesthouse or pension) is usually small, informal, quiet and safe (only the family and the guests are there, it is not a public place). That makes the place very suitable for people who do not like (big) hotels, but also don't want to stay on their own (for example in an apartment).

Guests are always welcome for a chat and/or cup tea and/or some advice. "Senmut" hopes to be a "home away from home" for guests who are interested in ancient and contemporary Egyptian culture.

The facilities:
"Senmut" has nine double rooms. All rooms are spacious and very clean. Six rooms have their own shower, wash basin and toilet. All rooms have two single beds (that can be put together) a wardrobe, a dresser and a sitting group (table with two chairs). Every room is equipped with fan, some have airconditioning. There is a communal living/dining room, bathroom and kitchen.

The sheltered garden and roof terrace are open for guests. Guests can take their meals there if they want. From the roof terrace there is a beautiful view over the Nile and its boats, the East Bank of Luxor and Luxor Temple on the one side, and the fields of the West Bank with its palm trees and sugar cane on the other.

It is also possible to rent the whole first floor as a big appartment with living room, dining room, bathroom, kitchen and five double rooms (two with private shower and toilet). A perfect solution for groups of friends, families or companies.

Meals:
Breakfast is included. If you want to prepare your own meals/drinks you can use the communal kitchen. We also can prepare for a reasonably price a home-made evening meal for you.
