Aswan

Location:
In the new suburb Nasr City south of the center of Aswan (about five minutes by car). Simply follow the street passing the "Old Cataract" onto the hills. Right hand of the street the complete pink coloured "Sara Hotel" is located, erected on top of a jagged rock ledge above the Nile with a sensational view to the west bank with its only few houses and to the western desert, to the Salouga Islands in the middle of the first cataract and to the feluccas, the traditional Egyptian sailing boats, drifting past.

Hotel:
"Sara Hotel" starts its operating two years ago, is under classification for four stars. At the moment 54 double rooms and six suites are available. All rooms are set up around a inner courtyard with a garden, all are equipped with balconies offering Nile-view. The spacious rooms are provided with individual adjustable air conditioner, telephone (without direct dialing), satellite tv, Mini-Bar (will be filled on request), bathroom (hair drier on loan at the reception).

Located at the ground floor you find the extensive lobby with the reception and an elevator up to the rooms. Behind the lobby the "El Mashrabiy" coffee shop with Nile view is open 24 hours. This is the right place for a small snack in between. In the "Cliff Top Bar" next to the coffee shop you can enjoy your drink or have conversations in a typical English atmosphere with quiet and soft background music.

The main restaurant "Van Gogh" in the first floor offers seats for 150 guests. Here breakfast is served as a buffet, guests with on half board here will have their dinner (buffet with European and Oriental dishes).

Layout:
Crossing the lobby two flights of stairs lead you down to the heart of "Sara Hotels": The first terrace with the swimming pool. With its view to the beauty of the Nile it is a perfect place to relax. The water depth of the pools is 90 cm for the kids area, 1,60 m for adults. Of course drinks will be served around the pool and sanitary facilities are installed. Underneath the pool area integrated into the slope of the steep bank of the Nile there are three more terraces, all offering a breathtaking view - actual the whole day, but especially at sunset. Also here service is guaranteed. The lowest terrace is equivalent to a garden area with lawn.

Service:
Hourly shuttle service by a hotel owned bus to the center of Aswan (terminus at old "Isis Hotel" Corniche) from 9 a.m. until midnight (except 1 till 4 p.m.). Dry clean service, ironing service, 24-hours room service, on request shuttle service to pick you up at the airport or train station. The staff is speaking English.

Important:
So far the hotel facilities are not finished according to the final plan. It is supposed to run a discotheque, but up to now the space can be used as a conference room. Also under planning are the operating of additional restaurants with special offers, as well as the construction of a jetty for feluccas and motor boats down on the shore of the Nile which nowadays can't be reached. And it is planned to organize two times a week barbecues at the terraces - not just for guests of the hotel but also for everybody who likes to come - Egyptians or foreigners.

01.05 until 30. 09. 2008: Double room USD 22 per person/night, single room USD 30 per night. Children's rate and price for additional bed on request.
