Hotel "El Nakhil"

Location:
Opened in January 2005 the hotel is located at the edge of the village Gezira El Bairat on the West bank of Luxor. This is only a five minute walk to the Nile and the public ferry with continuos crossings to the city of Luxor and its famous temples, museums and popular bazars and shops. The hotel is easily located by leaving the ferry on the West bank, and following the main street for 200 metres turning left at the mosque along a village road for 100 metres to the hotel main entrance (picture left).

Hotel & Rooms:
The horseshoe-shaped hotel has a distinctive and exotic islamic and arabic design which provides comfort, security and tranquility in a prime location with stunning views to the Nile and the surrounding countryside with its numerous palm-trees (which gave the hotel its name: nakhil is the Arabic word for palm-trees) and including the magnificent Theban mountains. The situation on the edge of an Egyptian village enables you to experience present life in a rural community.

 

"El Nakhil" offers spacious en-suite bedrooms designed and finished to the highest standards. The hotel can cater for guests requiring single, double or triple bedrooms. Within the hotel complex we have also provided special facilities to cater for the physically less able with wheelchair ramps,

designed gardens and bedrooms with adapted bathrooms. Staff are trained to support guests who may wish to have assistance.This is a child friendly hotel with cot beds available and a safe daytime child minding service if requested.

Service:
Bookings are based upon bed and breakfast. Half board or full board bookings can also be arranged. The hotel is happy to arrange airport or train transfers at a competetive rate if requested. The owner/manager Salah Gaber Ali speaks English and German, and many of his staff speak English.

Food & Beverages:
The breakfast menu offers a choice to meet your individual needs. This includes fresh juices, yoghurts, breakfast toast, croissants, local sun bread called "aish shams" followed by a choice from the egg menu such as ommelettes and scrambled eggs. If requested we are happy to provide the local Egyptian breakfast of falafel and beans.

Throughout the day a chef is employed to provide snacks, lunches and evening meals to meet your requests.

The bar staff serve refreshing beverages all day such as fresh juices, fruit cocktails, teas and coffee. Other drinks can be requested.

Guests can enjoy their meals and drinks on roof terraces, in the gardens or within the indoor dining room.

Journeys:
The hotel location is ideal for the traveller interested in the ancient history of Egypt and all its splendour. The valleys of the Kings and Queens, and all of the temples and monuments on the West bank can be reached within 20 minutes. The travel options such as taxis and local transport are easily accessed. The magnificent temples of Luxor and Karnak are reached by a short crossing of the Nile.

Longer trips to Cairo, beautiful Aswan and the other temples up and down the Nile can all be arranged within the hotel.

Special Occassions:
Small celebration meals can be arranged for birthdays and other special events.

Single room Euro 19,50 (B&B), double room Euro 27,50 (B&B), triple room Euro 33,50 (B&B) (All prices shown include all taxes). A special tariff for longer term bookings may be negotiated with the owner/manager.

Payment:
Payment of room rates are preferred in Euros, other currencies are adjusted according the daily exchange rate of the banks. Cheques or credit cards are not accepted.
