Your apartment has been built using, wherever possible, traditional materials which are available in Egypt. The bricks are handmade and the plaster is a mixture of sand and straw. Furniture is traditionally used sparingly in Egypt since wood had to be imported and was therefore very expensive. On the other hand, we have tried to create an atmosphere which we hope you will find pleasant and which does not compromise the level of comfort.

All rooms are equipped with ventilators, one of the two bedroom (one with dobble bed, one with two single beds) is equipped furthermore with air conditioning. In the nice bathroom you will find hot and cold water and also towels. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, oven and a fridge, so that you can prepare your own food. There are also two bicycles.

Temple, temple...

We do not want to reiterate the seemingly endless list of sightseeing opportunities since you will find these in your travel guide. Whatever your favourites, we can find you the appropriate arabija (car) whether you wish a pickup as used by most Egyptians or a limousine with or without air conditioning. We can help to secure admission tickets, find an experienced guide, or if you wish, we can also accompany you. Do not miss the sound & light show at the temple Karnak, even if it sounds a bit cheesy in the first place – it is a great experience. Or maybe you like to use the Moonriver Boat to get to the temple in an exclusive style – your choice.

Boat trips...

An alternative to the many cultural highlights are the trips with our boat Moonriver. Visit Banana Island, a beautiful peninsula where tourist cruises only visit for a few minutes. We offer the possibility to explore Banana Island in your own time. Take a guided tour with Mahmut through the plantation, have a Karkade tea, and walk along the shore to the next village. Moonriver will wait for you. Or what about a romantic dinner in the restaurant Nil View - with Moonriver a 30 minute cruise upstream - where you will dine the best fish in the Westbank (before dinner, negotiate the menu and price). You may also ask for live music, and naturally we can help bartering if you wish. Fancy a moonlight dinner on river Nile? We can arrange this. You like to fish? We provide a fishing rod and bait is provided by kids on the shore. During your stay Moonriver is yours, whenever you like.
