Hassan's
House
Location:
In the center of the rural area of the village of El Gezira to reach
walking along a small alley between the hotels "El Gezira"
and "El Fayrouz". This alley cannot be used by cars so
it is a real calm area. (no. 23 in our map).
Size:
Living room and bedroom (each ca. 12.5 sqm), kitchen (ca. 8 sqm),
bathroom (ca. 5 sqm) and the big garden (ca. 75 sqm).
Style of building:
The small cottage was built up in the traditional Nubian style.
The thick walls are plastered with mud brought by the river Nile
which gives the house the natural colour. Two domes which close
up to a height of five metres make sure that inside the temperatures
are real comfortable even outside it is very hot. The living and
the sleeping room each have a separate entrance from the courtyard,
kitchen and bathroom you will find in separate buildings. The whole
little communal is locked by a separate door leading to the alley.
All the communal is located in a real nice garden.
Occupancy:
A maximum of two people.
Equipment:
Simple but also handy. The bedroom is equipped with a double bed
and a wardrobe, the living room with the typical benches and a table
and of course there is a tv (broadcasting local programs). In both
rooms there are fans, also you can use a portable air conditioner.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need, cups and
dishes, pots and pans and so on. Of course there is a frige and
a gas oven. In the bathroom there is a shower and a WC and also
a water heater.

But
the real living room is the inner garden. In the light shadow of
a date palm here are growing lemon trees, henna bushes, mango trees
and everywhere flowers.
The
n ame:
Of course the owner of the house is named Hassan, but his full name
is Hassan Mohamed Youssef.
Service:
Bedclothes and towels are in the flat. A telephone you will find
in Hassan's flat nearby (you can receive long distance calls). On
request Hassan's wife will cook for you typical meals from Upper
Egypt, the family will also help you with shopping if you like.
A washing machine is installed in Hassans flat (for washing and
ironing please pay Hassan's wife a little bakshish). On request
the family will help you cleaning the flat (also pay a bakshish).
With
his taxi (a Peugeot 505) of course Hassan offers you trips to all
the points of sightseeing on the Westbank. On request he will also
pick you up from the airport (LE 70) or the train station (LE 50).
For exploring the antiquities Hassan also can bring you experienced
guides from his family (prices on request).

Prices:
One week LE 350, two weeks LE 650, one month LE 1.300. All
prices excluding the official registration as a tourist. Electricity
and water (meters installed) have to be payed extra. Prices
for long term renting on request.
Booking:
Send a mail by using the contact button

of the house for reservation. The operator of the website will confirm
this finally after he received the confirmation that you booked
a flight to Egypt.
Payment:
All payments are requested in cash money. Credit cards or cheques
cannot be accepted. Please do every payment by starting your holidays
in advance. Foreign currencies will be exchanged by the exchange
rate of the day of the banks.


Permanent
renting:
If you like to rent the house long termed there will be signed a
contract with a lawyer. The contract has to run for a minimum time
of one year. By signing the contract you have to pay the rent for
four monthes in advance. The rent for one month is used as a deposit
and will not be paid back if you cancel the contract earlier.
