"Restaurant Mohamed"

Kitchen: We really are a family restaurant. We, that means father Mohamed Abd El Laa, his wife and his son Azab, are also cooking by ourselves according to tradition of our family. Meat, poultry and vegetables are supplied by the family. So everything is always fresh. This is also the reason that we only offer seasonal dishes. With us you can experience the real taste of Upper Egyptian food. We serve soups from tomatoes, lentils and seasonal vegetables. One of our specialities is the Oriental salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, green pepper, carots prepared with a fine Vinaigrette and served with feta cheese). And of course we offer you also Tahina, Homos or Babaganough
Specialities: Homemade, spicy Kofta (small grilled rolls from minced lamb meat), grilled or stuffed with "Feriq" (green wheat) pigeons breeded in the own pigeon house, duck in orange (prepared according to a secret recipe from Mohameds wife), in winter months fresh fish from the Red Sea. We create for you breakfast up to your wishes, with bread, jam, cheese and eggs, Foul or omelettes prepared in different ways (highly recommended after picking up your tickets for the tomb of Nefertari at the Ticket Office in the very early morning and have some time until the tomb will be opened)
Drinks: Soft Drinks, Egyptian wines, Stella beer, tea, coffee, Cappuccino, Karkadeh and of course our refreshing grapefruit juice, always freshly squeezed by order

Set menus only will be served, the prices are between 15 und 20 LE,
beer LE 7, Soft Drinks and fresh fruit juices LE 2/3 (all prices incl.
taxes and service)
The place: Unspoilt-romantic place with very old trees, the oldest example is a "Atla" (cedar species, see picture buttom right) shall be more than 600 years old, located directly on the edge from the agricultural area to the desert. You sit on rustic benches on the tables. ust recently new toilets were installed, which are permanentely cleaned, always equiped with toilet paper, soap and towels
Size: Approx. 400 sqm; inside the long tables and benches welcome up to 100 guests, normally operated in the garden restaurant up to 50 guests find a seat. With arrangement in advance the garden can be prepared for groups with up to 150 seats
Service: Mohamed and Azab will be pleased to take care for you, always friendly and attentive
Special Offers: All kinds of parties for small and big groups can be arranged
Opening hours: Because we also live here we are all around the clock open
Location: Follow the sandy track at the Ticket Office ín direction Medinet Habu. After approx. 100 metres you find the "Restaurant Mohamed" on your left hand side shortly before the hotel "Pharaohs"
