Hotel "Amenophis"

Location: Very close to the temple of Medinet Habu in the village Habu City (behind the Colossi of Memnon turn left from the main road into the small street just before you reach the Antiquities Office. Follow the street approx. one kilometer to the hotel).

Category: 1 Star, so far the only hotel on the West Bank with the official sign of a star confered by the Ministry of Tourism. Opening in January 2000.

Hotel: 22 rooms (size approximately 14 sqm) including two spacious apartments each with one living room, two bed rooms, kitchen, bathroom. All hotel rooms equipped with private shower/WC, air condition and fan, telephone. Additional bed or cod on request.

Service: Bookings are based on bed and breakfast (buffet), on request halfboard possible. 24 hours room service, service for laundry, dry clean and iron. On request hair driers are available for rent. Additional offers for guests of the hotel: Taxi orders possible, ticket service for domestic flights as well as ticket service for visiting the archeological sites on the West and East Bank.

Restaurants: The attraction is the roof garden restaurant with an extraordinary view at the temple of Medinet Habu, to the mountains and over the green cultivated agricultural land including the Colossi of Memnon (up to 100 persons). The indoor restaurant in the groundfloor is highly recommended especially in the cooler winter months (up to 48 persons). Baby chairs are available

Food and Bevarages: Open breakfast buffet with Nescafe, tea, fresh juices, honey, jams, three kinds of cheese, yoghurt,
tasty traditional sunbread and croissants, eggs prepared on your choice on request. Egyptian kitchen for lunch and dinner with freshly prepared delicious main courses like stuffed pigeon, duck, chicken, fish from the Nile or the Red Sea, meat. The menues will be served with soup, salades, vegetables, rice and potatoes. Meals for diabetics or vegetarians on request. All kind of soft drinks, local beer and wine on enquiery (but will not be served during the fasting month of Ramadan). The prices for the menues are about LE 25. Opening hours for lunch and dinner: 11 a.m. till midnight .

Entertainment: Arrangements for sightseeing trips with camel, horse, donkey, bike or car, sailing trips by felukka. The temples of Medinat Habu, of the King Merenptah or the Ramessum you can reach by a nice short stroll.

Special Offers: Arrangements of private parties prepared according to your own ideas. Also lunch or dinner parties for groups with special meals like barbecue or particular menues are possible on request.

Staff and Languages: The professional and friendly team speaks English, French and a bit German.

Prices: Single room LE 75 (B/B) LE 100 half board, double room LE 130 (B/B) LE 170 half board, Apartment LE 250 (B/B up to four persons), child in parents room additional LE 30. All prices are per night per room incl. all taxes and stamps. Special prices for long termed visitors on request. All payments locally after arival cash, by Visa Card or Traveller Cheques. Foreign currencies will be exchanged according daily bank rates.
